Situated on a working farm, The Stable was originally one of the stables housing the working Clydesdale horses. Originally converted in 1997 and fully refurbished in 2018, The Stable is nestled in the Girthon Valley and surrounded by some of the best scenery in Galloway, with great walks, both woodland and coastal. Galloway has 200 miles of beautiful coastline, wild mountains and moorland, pretty towns and charming villages. The area also offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The Stable is for two adults and two kids, or makes an ideal getaway for a couple. It is a fantastic base for those who like to go exploring.

The area also offers a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy, be it visiting the local ice cream parlour, Cream O’ Galloway, or the CocoaBean Chocolate Factory at Twynholm. Clauchan Holiday Cottages is only 4 miles from the superb GG’s Yard wedding venue and Gather Resteraunt. There are many exciting and beautiful cycle paths straight from your door, or try the world famous 7Stanes cycling challenge. There is an abundance of local loch’s and rivers if fishing is preferred!

There is something for everyone in this beautiful unspoilt corner of Scotland. The cottage is only a few minutes drive from the charming town of Gatehouse of Fleet which offers a wide range of places to eat and relax. There are many attractions in and around the town including the Mill on the Fleet Visitor Centre and Cardoness Castle.

"Lovely family accommodation where children can enjoy the outdoors and makes friends with all the farmyard animals. The owner Iain is extremely helpful and welcoming and made sure we had a very comfortable stay . There are lots of activities for kids to try out in the surrounding area just a short drive away and some very nice beaches and coastlines to explore."

"Had a lovely week in the barn. peaceful, relaxing setting, amazing hot tub. Accommodation was very well equipped and quickly felt at home. Wifi was good, and decent smart TV with netflix subscription which was handy on the odd wet afternoon. Was lovely having the goats and pigs nearby, and we had lots of baby birds learning to fly around the barn. Iain and Jackie were great hosts and on hand if needed. We will definitely be back, just home and missing the place already!"
